Another reviewer stated that these are messy. I have to agree!! Taking the trays off my teeth was pretty unpleasant (had the bleach gunk all over trays, hands, etc).

I'm using the 7 day treatment, and timing each one for 30 minutes, because of some prior dentist's prescription that was for my gums. One reviewer of the 14 day white tray system said their gums bled after they used the trays. Observation: If your gums are bleeding, it's not the white trays; there's an underlying cause someplace. Thankfully, my gums are just fine after my first experience with the trays. My suggestion is to go for the LEAST TIME you can stand it.

I did use the 'pro gentle' toothpaste that comes with the kit BEFORE I applied the trays -and to be sure I got all the gunk outta my teeth, I brushed again with the toothpaste AFTER. (Yuk!!!).

Over the years, I have tried many home teeth whitening products. I have sensitive teeth to begin with, and many of these products are very painful so I decided to give these a shot. The first time I used the trays it was a COMPLETE mess. After the third day I had become accustom to the tray (as opposed to the strips) and it was less messy but I did in fact see results as they claimed. While there was some discomfort it was very mild in comparison to Crest White Strips Premium which work very well and are easier to use. It is a compromise but the product definitely does what it claims.

I only rated the product a 3 out of 5 stars for the reasons stated above and because you need to leave the trays in for 45min each use...this is a long time when you can't eat/drink/talk and your mouth is constantly salivating.

This does come with a "special toothpaste" I'd suggest the Crest White Strips with Sensidyne or some toothpaste along those lines.
