I've been a Biotene fan for about 5yrs now, first using the traditional product. I found my mouth is a lot cleaner and no funky bad breathe tastes for up to 24hrs, something I don't get from traditional toothpastes. About a year ago I discovered the new PBF formula, which seems to be almost 2 times more effective then the old formula. I now use both the PBF toothpaste and the PBF mouthwash and I swear by them. There is a faint taste to these products that reminds me of banana Runts candy, which I like. Don't let Biotene's niche marketing fool you, you don't need to suffer from dry mouth for this product to be effective (I don't). The reason they market it this way is because it contains synthetic proteins that your mouth produces naturally, those who have dry mouth need the extra amount of them. I have Sjogren's Syndrome (dry eye, dry mouth, dry everything). I thought I had tried every product that Biotene made but this toothpaste is incredible. The product is listed as "PBF" and there is a mouth wash with this same designation that is also far and away the best of their mouthwashes. I never would have found this product in my small town but I am thrilled to have found it on Amazon and the price is in the same range as the other Biotene toothpastes. It is not only gentle on the tissues but actually makes my teeth feel clean. For 7 years, I've been "babying" my teeth but never felt they were actually clean. The regular Biotene formulas were doing a good job according to the dentist, but I was never happy with the results until this one. I do hope they continue to make this for a long time.

This stuff really works! Used together with Biotene mouthwash as directed, they have dramatically reduced the amount of plaque that builds up on my teeth. In the past, I have required a one hour dental prophylaxis appointment every 4 to 6 months to clean my teeth, but there is no accumulation after 5 months since I started to use these items as directed.
